CIRCMI

Center for Research on Information, Customer and Innovation Management (CIRCMI) is one of the research and development units at the School of Information Sciences (SIS) at the University of Tampere.  CIRCMI has around 15 multinational researchers (four of them PhD’s) with diversified scholarly backgrounds and a versatile partner network. The research deals for example with customer driven business development, competitiveness strategies, product and service integration management, business communities and innovation building, mass customization and strategic agility, use of strategic ICT and change management of knowledge-based companies. During the recent years the geographical focus has been expanding to Asia, and CIRCMI now has co-operation relationships with universities in Hong Kong, Delhi and Dharwad. CIRCMI is led by Professor Mikko Ruohonen.

In collaboration with another unit from SIS – TAUCHI – CIRCMI leads and coordinates RuralVoice.  CIRCMI’s research responsibilities in the project include modeling the service ecosystem in different parts of rural India, developing sustainable business models, conducting field studies among villagers and designing content for prototypes and evaluating them. The unit has staff both in India and Finland, and it works in close collaboration with Indian universities – IMI in Delhi and UAS in Dharwad. Contextual knowledge, Indian expertise and functioning collaboration are vital and cherished issues in RuralVoice and in the work of CIRCMI.

Together with Finpro CIRCMI is also trying to find ways for market entry and business collaboration for Finnish companies who deal with language-, speech- or mobile technologies. Currently we are looking for Finnish companies in these domains who are interested in voice-based service development in India. First developed services are in Kannada language. In case you are interested, please use the contact form.
